I would like to make a script, that can tell me, how many minutes I have spent working the current day. How do I extract the information from the hamster database?
i’d recommend using the python wrapper for it http://projecthamster.wordpress.com/2010/04/30/experimentation-with-real-data/ or you can use dbus.
alternatively you can just query sqlite db, which is in ~/.local/share/hamster-applet/hamster.db
I have look in the database, but I could see the time information. Do you know the name of the table that has that information. If I have use 40 minutes working on a projects. In which table do I read the 40 minutes?
I meant “I couldn’t see the”
look for start_date and end_date in facts. also read code. and still i’d suggest using the dbus or python instead of going straight for db
